Phrases that buy you thinking time

Everyone needs a second to think, even native speakers. The difference is they fill the gap instead of going silent. Try: "That's a good question...", "Let me think about that for a second", or "Well, it depends...". They sound natural, they give you time, and they make you look more confident, not less.
